Nathan Bland received his early training with Margret Smallie and Sandy Thomas. He then continued his training with Melissa Allen-Bowman along with training on full scholarships at American Ballet Theatre and Joffrey. His professional career began with Kansas City Ballet where his repertoire includes ballets such as Giselle, Balanchine's Square Dance, Todd Bolender's Danse Concertante and Twyla Tharp's As Time Goes By, to name a few. He then went on to dance with Eugene Ballet/Ballet Idaho, LazarBalletNYC and Connecticut Ballet, dancing roles such as Demetrius in A Midsummer's Night Dream, Conrad in Le Corsaire and various original works by Elie Lazar. The last 3 years he was based out of New York City as a freelance dance artist, performing all over the eastern and southern regions of the United States, even performing in St. Martin for New Years Eve. He not only freelanced as a dancer, but also as a teacher and choreographer. He is looking forward to this upcoming season with Oklahoma City Ballet. Nathan wants to dedicate this season to his grandmother, Jane Sulton.
