Prior to joining the company, Emily trained at The Dance Center of Oklahoma City Ballet with Robert Mills, Jacob Sparso, and Viktoria Page. She was an original cast member in Robert Mills' Still and counts Duck in Peter and the Wolf, Dor Mouse in Alice in Wonderland, the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz, Myrtha in Giselle, and the central pas de deux in Helen Pickett’s Zephyrus as her favorite roles. In addition to The Dance Center of Oklahoma City Ballet, she has trained with Violette Verdy, Kirk Peterson, and George De La Pena. In 2004 she performed a solo from Paquita at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Emily also enjoys performing with local dance companies Perpetual Motion and R.A.C.E. in the off season.
