Born in Los Angeles, CA, Mr. Barocio began his training in 1991. He has received scholarships to train at San Francisco Ballet, Boston Ballet, Houston Ballet, Los Angeles Classical Ballet, and American Ballet Theatre. He has also trained with some of the world's best performers and teachers all across America. In 2004, David performed in Claremont-Ferrand, France, and since then he has performed in Europe and South America, as well as throughout the United States. David has performed works by Ben Stevenson, George Balanchine, Michel Fokine, and original works by Amy Seiwert, Helen Pickett, Jessica Lang, Lee Wei Chao and Robert Mills. With Oklahoma City Ballet, Barocio has performed principal roles in Paris Rouge, Wizard of Oz, and Mills' Touchstones and The Nutcracker. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma where he received Bachelors in Ballet Performance, Mr. Barocio danced with Eugene Ballet before coming to Oklahoma City Ballet in 2008. David would like to dedicate the 2011/2012 season to the OKC Ballet medical staff and his family for which this season is possible.
